Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

You have told us that domestic burglary is a priority.

    Issued 28 September 2026

    Action taken:

We have conducted patrols both covert and overt in the area, we have visited the Fairfield Estate and completed burglary cocooning and offered safety advice. We have undertaken community safety meetings and ensured intel is shared across all local NPA's to try an identify suspects.

    Actioned 28 September 2026

  • Priority:

You have told us that nuisance motorbikes are causing you concern. This can include off-road bikes being ridden illegally, excessive noise, dangerous riding, speeding, and motorbikes being used in parks, footpaths or other areas where they should not be. We will be working with partners to tackle these issues, identify those responsible, and prevent further incidents from occurring in your area.

    Issued 28 September 2026

    Action taken:

The local Beat Team has conducted targeted patrols and dedicated operations in identified hotspot areas, including around Tesco, Blaby Road Park and surrounding residential streets, to address reports of nuisance motorbikes and improve community safety. Officers have carried out high-visibility patrols, engaged with riders and members of the public, gathered intelligence, and monitored areas where nuisance bikes have been reported. These patrols have provided reassurance to residents while helping to identify those responsible for anti-social and dangerous riding.

The Beat Team has also worked closely with local schools and community partners to educate young people about the dangers and consequences of nuisance bike use, anti-social behaviour and road safety offences.

Officers have engaged with local residents to better understand the impact that nuisance bikes are having on the community and have used this information to direct patrol activity to key locations. The Beat Team has further liaised with partner agencies, including the local council, to develop a coordinated approach to tackling the issue, reducing anti-social behaviour and improving safety for residents, pedestrians and other road users. As a result of this focused activity, reports of nuisance bike activity have reduced and community confidence has been strengthened through ongoing engagement and visible policing.

    Actioned 28 September 2026

  • Priority:

You told us that you were concerned about vehicle crime. This can be theft of motor vehicles or theft from motor vehicles, this also includes theft of tools from vans.

    Issued 28 September 2026

    Action taken:

We carry out regular patrols in areas affected by crime and anti-social behaviour, using both high-visibility and plain-clothes tactics to target offenders. This has already led to arrests and the recovery of stolen property, and this activity will continue throughout the year.

With support from the Community Safety Partnership, we have also provided crime prevention items, including anti-theft number plate screws and Faraday pouches. These are available at local crime prevention events and police stations. Please check local events for details of upcoming beat meetings and crime prevention activities.

We have recently purchased, with support of the community safety partnership, crime prevention items. These include number plate screws, to make it harder to steal number plates as well as faraday pouches. The pouches are available at our crime prevention events or from the police stations. Please check our events for when beat meetings/crime prevention events are happening. If you have concerns about crime in your area please contact your local team.
