About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Road Safety - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern in Rushymead - with speeding, bad parking, use of mobile phones, drink and drug driving being a great concern to the public.
Key locations: Gipsy Lane, Gleneagles Ave, Peebles Way, outside local schools

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

By working in conjunction with partner agencies and listening to the local community we are able to identify high-risk areas and develop longer-term solutions through traffic calming measures and more appropriate road signage.

You will see your beat officers providing patrols at local schools at key times to improve the safety of pupils, parents and road users. We will also try to educate and enforce the laws around child car seats and use of seatbelts.

Our team have planned speeding, road traffic offending and vehicle checks operations across the Rushey Mead area throughout the coming months, to catch those breaking the law.

The team will also be targeting motorbikes and those causing a nuisance and ASB. You will see signs being placed across the beat area warning against riding motorbikes on our green spaces.

We are also committed to identifying those who use vehicles without the correct documentation such as valid driving licences and valid insurance.

Please contact the team if you have any concerns.

    *** Update ***

On 3rd June the local team completed a traffic enforcement operation whereby a number of identified locations were targeted.

    Results -
23 x traffic offences reported including speeding (9), mobile phone usage (4), no seatbelt (6) and driving document offences (4)
2 x vehicles seized under the Road Traffic Act
1 x Stop and search conducted
1 x knife located and seized from vehicle where the investigation remains ongoing.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

Reports of street drinking in the local area have been highlighted by residents.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Our Dedicated Neighbourhood Officers will look to focus on dealing with this rising trend and the types of anti-social behaviour which stems from it.

    *** Update ***

The local team have completed work and patrols in identified areas and are looking to take appropriate action against those involved. This will involve the incremental process in line with anti-social behaviour. One individual is currently subject to this process having been identified by local officers.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

Green / open spaces - We have received reports of anti-social behaviour and criminality taking place within our green and open spaces across the beat. Targeted patrols, engagement and enforcement will be undertaken.

    Issued 01 July 2026
