About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour is a priority for the local beat team. We seem some reports of anti-social behaviour in the local parks and also around some retail locations. The beat team will regularly patrol these area and always seek to identify perpetrators. We work with our partner agencies to tackle this issue using an incremental and educational approach to break the cycle. The beat team where appropriate use a method referred to as a Community Resolution. This gives victims an opportunity to have perpetrators understand the impact of their behaviour and requires perpetrators to be accountable for their behaviour and make right what they have done. This can include letters of apology, re-imbursement for damage caused or being banned from entering a particular location.

    Issued 14 September 2021

    Action taken:

    – Sadly we continue to receive we reports of off-road motorbikes in Leicester Forest East. The beat team are working with neighbouring beats to identify the perpetrators and will be dealing with them appropriately. This week one quad bike was seized by officers from the Braunstone area.

    Actioned 05 April 2022

  • Priority:

Road Safety and speeding are another priority for the team. We regularly review locations where speeding and unsafe driving have been reported. The beat team organise speeding enforcement operations on a regular basis. We have seen some reports in relation to the improper use of E-scooters and the beat team will be completing educational inputs into their proper use and legality.

    Issued 14 September 2021

    Action taken:

    – This month the beat team have asked our volunteers to add some new streets to their speed monitoring locations after being raised by yourselves via our Neighbourhood Link surveys.

    Actioned 05 April 2022

  • Priority:

Theft from motor vehicles and theft of motor vehicles is another identified priority for the area. There has been a general increase in theft of motor vehicles using keyless entry which is where new technology is being used such as scanners to unlock and remove vehicles off driveways, we are urging residents to use such tactics as RFID blocking pouches. The local beat team continually work with residents and businesses to promote vehicle safety and security.

    Issued 14 September 2021

    Action taken:

    – This month has seen a few in theft of catalytic convertors and number plates across the beat. The beat team have been out conducting patrols in the most recent areas it by these crimes and also conducting enquires to help trace the suspects. Visit our website on how you can protect your vehicle from catalytic convertor theft. https://www.leics.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/catalytic-converter-theft/

    Actioned 05 April 2022

  • Priority:

Residential Burglary is still a new priority for the beat team. We are very much aware of the concerns for our residents and continue to offer reassurance with regards to proactive policing and disrupting those that commit offences on our area. Not only do dwellings get targeted but also sheds, garages and other outbuildings. Crime prevention and sharing of information will continue. With the use of social media platforms, CCTV and other information concerning suspicious activity will be shared.

    Issued 05 October 2021

    Action taken:

    – This month we have seen reports of homes being left insecure allowing opportunists to gain access to your house easily. We are encouraging everyone to make sure their properties are secure if you are going out or going upstairs. This prevents easy access to your home.

    Actioned 05 April 2022
