About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Shoplifting is a persistent problem in the town centre. Having had a successful last quarter in tackling this issue, we are seeing an emerging trend of offenders using the rail network to travel to Hinckley and commit shoplifting offences.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

This week we've received reports of shoplifting in the town centre. All four suspects have been identified, three of them have been given out of court disposals and one will be sent to court for the offence.

    Actioned 01 October 2026

  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour in open spaces around the town including Argents Mead, the Leisure Centre, and Castle Street. This includes street drinking and playing loud music.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

On 3rd October PC Smeaton completed pro-active patrols around Argents Mead and also attended the Squadron Open Day.
On 5th October we received a report of youths climbing on buildings in and around the Mead. PC Smeaton attended and completed an initial investigation. This will be progressed in conjunction with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.
The beat team continue to monitor the situation in the Mead and have active ASB cases open which are being investigated.

    Actioned 01 October 2026

  • Priority:

Street drinking is a problem in the town centre, with repeat individuals taking alcohol to Argents Mead and Castle Street, in contravention of the PSPO.

    Issued 01 October 2026

    Action taken:

The beat team attended OctoBIDfest this week to monitor the situation with street drinking and ensure the PSPO is being followed. The result was positive and there were no reports of the PSPO being breached.

    Actioned 01 October 2026
