About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Action taken:

    Officers have carried out targeted foot patrols and maintained a visible presence in locations where nuisance vehicle activity has been reported. This includes areas such as riverside paths, local roads and open spaces where concerns have been raised by residents.

    Patrols help officers gather information, identify those responsible and take action where offences are identified. Officers are also working to identify repeat offenders and explore a range of enforcement options to help reduce incidents and prevent further antisocial behaviour.

    We will continue to monitor reports, carry out targeted patrols and work with local communities to address concerns and improve safety in affected areas.

    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Officers have been carrying out regular high-visibility patrols in locations where road safety concerns have been raised by local residents.

    These patrols provide a visible police presence, allow officers to monitor driver behaviour and traffic issues, and create opportunities to engage with motorists about safe and responsible driving. Officers also use patrols to identify offences and take appropriate action where necessary.

    Improving road safety remains a priority, and this ongoing activity is designed to encourage safer driving, deter dangerous road use and help ensure that concerns raised by the community are addressed.

    Drug dealing.

    Action taken:

    In August, officers arrested 2 people on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. Possession with intent to supply means someone is suspected of holding illegal drugs with the intention of selling or distributing them to others. Suspected controlled drugs were seized during the investigation, which remains ongoing.

    Tackling drug-related crime continues to be a priority, and officers are carrying out targeted activity in areas where concerns about drug supply have been raised. This includes gathering information, conducting patrols and taking enforcement action where offences are identified.

    We encourage anyone with information about suspected drug dealing or drug-related crime to report it to Kent Police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers.
