About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Criminal damage.

    Issued 17 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to work with local schools to address concerns about graffiti and criminal damage in the area. Engagement with schools has helped raise awareness of the impact of this behaviour and has contributed to a reduction in graffiti-related reports and incidents. Officers continue to patrol locations where concerns have been raised and respond to information from residents.

As part of ongoing work to tackle antisocial behaviour in Tenterden, a 17-year-old was arrested and issued with a Community Protection Warning after being linked to incidents of criminal damage affecting residential properties and licensed premises. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given when a person's behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. Conditions have been put in place to restrict access to certain locations within Tenterden, and officers continue to carry out regular checks to ensure these conditions are being followed. Through ongoing patrols, engagement and enforcement activity, officers continue to work to reduce antisocial behaviour and improve community safety.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Catapults.

    Issued 17 July 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to attend calls relating to catapult crime. We are patrolling areas of concern raised in Tenterden and St Michaels raised by residents. We are also acting on community information to identify and take enforcement action with the use of antisocial behaviour legislation such as community protection warnings and acceptable behaviour agreements. We are working with schools, the community and neighbourhood watch to identify the individuals and address their behaviour. As a result of patrolling in the St Michaels area, an individual was promptly arrested in possession of an offensive weapon when a catapult was located and remains under investigation.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 17 July 2026

    Action taken:

There has been several speed checks conducted in the Tenterden area, including the Golden Square and Woodchurch Road. As a result of these checks, numerous vehicles were stopped and 2 individuals were issued speeding tickets and another 2 were dealt with for words of advice. Two vehicles have also been seized for driving otherwise in accordance with a license and no insurance. A further individual has been arrested for driving with excess alcohol in an area that was reported as a local concern by the local community. We continue to act upon community information to patrol these areas and target offending vehicles.
