    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to carry out high-visibility patrols in the area to improve road safety and provide reassurance to residents. Local officers work closely with St Mary's Island Primary School, engaging with parents and carers to address concerns about road safety, particularly during school drop-off and pick-up times. Through ongoing patrols, community engagement and partnership working, officers continue to promote safer driving and help improve safety for everyone using local roads.

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to carry out high-visibility patrols in Chatham Maritime, Dockside and on St Mary's Island to address antisocial behaviour and provide reassurance to residents. Patrols are focused on areas where concerns have been raised and help officers identify issues, engage with the community and take action where necessary.

    The dedicated officer for the area also carries out regular visits to known hotspot locations and works closely with residents and partner organisations to address ongoing concerns. As part of this work, a Community Protection Notice (CPN) has been issued to a resident responsible for persistent antisocial behaviour. A Community Protection Notice is a legal notice that requires a person to stop behaviour that is having a negative impact on the community. Failure to comply can lead to further enforcement action. Through ongoing patrols, engagement and enforcement activity, officers continue to work to reduce antisocial behaviour and improve community safety.

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to tackle nuisance motorcycles in St Mary's Island through targeted patrols and enforcement activity. During one patrol, a nuisance motorcycle being used in an antisocial manner was identified and the registered owner was issued with a Section 59 warning. A Section 59 warning can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others. If the behaviour continues, the vehicle may be seized by police. Officers also gather and develop intelligence during patrols, helping to identify offenders and support proactive enforcement activity by specialist policing teams. Through ongoing patrols and partnership working, officers continue to address concerns raised by residents and improve community safety.
