    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    PC Brazier has worked closely with the local Speedwatch Team to address road safety concerns raised by residents. Targeted speed enforcement activity has been carried out on identified roads, with Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) issued where offences were detected. A TOR is a formal report issued when a driver is suspected of committing a road traffic offence and may result in a fine, driver education course or court action.

    Analysis of local speed monitoring data has shown that, while community concerns about speeding remain significant, the number of vehicles exceeding the speed limit is lower than many residents perceive. These findings have been shared with Pembury Parish Council and made available to residents, helping to provide reassurance through evidence-based information and support ongoing partnership working to improve road safety within the community. Officers will continue to monitor concerns, carry out enforcement where appropriate and work with local partners to promote safer driving.

    Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

    Action taken:

    Reports of nuisance motorbike use have been received across a number of locations within Pembury and Capel. In response, officers have attended incidents, carried out targeted enquiries and visited addresses linked to offending. This activity has resulted in Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Section 59 warnings being issued where appropriate.

    A CPW is a formal warning used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the community. A Section 59 warning is a legal warning that can be issued when a vehicle is used in a manner that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others. If further offending takes place, the vehicle may be seized.

    Increased patrols have also been carried out in areas affected by nuisance motorbike activity to provide reassurance, deter antisocial behaviour and identify those responsible. Officers will continue to respond to reports, act on information provided by residents and take appropriate enforcement action to reduce the impact of nuisance motorcycles on local communities.

    Action taken:

    Nuisance antisocial behaviour has been addressed through a combination of enforcement and partnership working. Community Protection Warnings (CPWs), Community Protection Notices (CPNs) and, where necessary, injunctions have been used to tackle persistent issues and protect local residents.

    A CPW is a formal warning issued when behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. A CPN is a legal notice that can be issued if the behaviour continues and may lead to further enforcement action if breached. Where criminal offences have been identified, positive action has been taken, including the arrest of offenders.

    This work has been supported by close partnership working with local housing providers and the local authority to achieve long-term solutions, reduce antisocial behaviour and improve the quality of life for residents.
