About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Catapults.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

High‑visibility patrols are taking place in areas such as Mote Park, with stop and search powers used where appropriate. Stop and search is a legal power that allows officers to search people for items, such as catapults, if they are being carried for an unlawful purpose.

    Actioned 16 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Dog fouling.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

We are working with Maidstone Borough Council and their Animal Welfare Licensing Officer to raise awareness of dog fouling.

Posters and stickers will be displayed across the area, and residents are encouraged to report issues through the Maidstone Borough Council website.

    Actioned 16 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

We are aware of ongoing issues with off‑road bikes.

Officers are carrying out patrols on foot and in vehicles, using stop and search powers where appropriate. Stop and search is a legal power that allows officers to search people for items linked to offences.

We continue to work with residents and listen to concerns through local engagement. Any off‑road bikes being used illegally in public will be seized.
