About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 17 July 2026

    Action taken:

We have been targeting hotspot areas associated to antisocial behaviour on motorcycles within the local community. A Surron bike was seized following reports from residents and intelligence is being developed to target other riders in an antisocial manner. Several illegal e-bikes have been seized during dedication days of action with more days of action planned. We have also been working with several housing associations to tackle reports of antisocial behaviour within their property and to take appropriate tenancy enforcement action. One property in the Newtown area resulted in an individual having their tenancy removed following reports of antisocial behaviour.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Drug dealing.

    Issued 17 July 2026

    Action taken:

We have been acting on information linked to drug supply within the local area following feedback from local residents. From developing the intelligence, a warrant was obtained at an address in Riverbank Way, Ashford, resulting in over 500 cannabis plants seized between that and other cultivations which has disrupted wider organised crime and an individual has been arrested. We have also proactively patrolled hotspot areas reported by residents, and several individuals have been subject to stop and search powers for drug misuse in the local area. An individual was arrested for possession with intent to supply a controlled drug in one of our hotspot areas. We continue to act on information reported to us via My Community Voice and other reporting methods.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 17 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to address road safety concerns through speed enforcement and community engagement. A number of roadside speed checks have been carried out across the ward, resulting in Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) being issued to drivers exceeding the speed limit. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal process used to deal with road traffic offences.

Officers are also working with Community Speedwatch volunteers to raise awareness of road safety issues and encourage safer driving. Residents can look out for details of a forthcoming community event on My Community Voice, where they can find out more about Speedwatch and how to get involved.

    Actioned 30 September 2026
