About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have carried out days of action focused on road safety, including speed checks and enforcement.

Tickets have been issued for offences such as speeding and not wearing a seatbelt, and vehicles have been seized for having no insurance. This work supports national campaigns targeting the "Fatal Four" (the main causes of serious road collisions: speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone while driving).

Community engagement events have also taken place, giving residents the chance to raise road safety concerns directly with their local officers.

    Actioned 16 June 2026

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/e-bikes.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are taking action against the illegal use of e‑scooters and e‑bikes, with seized vehicles removed and destroyed.

Recent activity includes seizures following nuisance riding in Beaver Road and at Ashford Outlet. Dedicated days of action continue in hotspot areas.

Officers are also working with young people leaving school to explain the risks and dangers of using e‑scooters and e‑bikes.

    Actioned 16 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

We have received reports of antisocial behaviour, including cannabis growing. Officers have gathered information, obtained warrants and taken action, leading to arrests and the dismantling of two large cannabis grows.

We have also responded to nuisance neighbour and housing issues, working with Ashford Borough Council and housing providers to resolve concerns and prevent further problems.

    Actioned 16 June 2026
