    E-scooters / E-bikes.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to take action against the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes in areas where concerns have been raised by the public. When officers identify people using these vehicles unlawfully, appropriate action may be taken, including seizing the vehicle and providing advice about the law.

    Over recent months, a number of e-scooters have been seized in the Deal area following reports and patrol activity. Officers have also been carrying out work to identify people who may own e-scooters and provide guidance on where and how they can be used legally.

    We would like to remind the public that privately owned e-scooters cannot currently be used on public roads, cycle lanes or pavements. Riders found using them illegally may have their e-scooter seized and could face further enforcement action.

    We encourage anyone with information about the illegal use of e-scooters or e-bikes to report it to Kent Police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers.

    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Over the past few months, officers have been taking action to improve road safety and tackle criminal activity involving vehicles in the Deal area. This work has resulted in a number of vehicles being seized, including a stolen vehicle that failed to stop for police and another vehicle driven by someone who was disqualified from driving.

    In a separate incident, officers stopped a vehicle and recovered a quantity of suspected drugs, along with a mobile phone believed to be linked to drug-related activity. The driver, who was banned from driving, is under investigation for suspected possession with intent to supply drugs and driving while disqualified. The vehicle was also seized.

    We will continue to take action against those involved in criminal activity and those who put other road users at risk through illegal driving. We encourage anyone with information about suspected offences to report it to Kent Police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers.

    Dog fouling.

    Action taken:

    Kent Police works closely with local authorities and partner organisations to address issues such as dog fouling and fly-tipping across the local area which can have a negative impact on public spaces and the local environment.

    Officers regularly share information with environmental enforcement teams to identify problem locations and take action where offences are identified. Evidence gathered by either police officers or authorised council officers can be used to support investigations and, where appropriate, lead to enforcement action or prosecution.

    We would like to thank residents who continue to report concerns and provide information about these issues. Reports from the public help us and our partners identify offenders, target resources effectively and keep local communities clean, safe and welcoming.

    If you have information about dog fouling, fly-tipping or other environmental offences, please report it to the relevant local authority or Kent Police. Information about criminal activity can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers.
