    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Road safety remains a priority for Kent Police, particularly in rural communities where concerns have been raised about speeding, dangerous driving and antisocial use of vehicles. Officers have been carrying out targeted patrols on routes identified through reports from the public, local information and collision data.

    As part of this work, officers have carried out speed checks, spoken with motorists about safe driving, and taken action where offences have been identified. They have also worked with partner organisations and local communities to understand where road safety issues are having the greatest impact and focus activity in those areas.

    During patrols, officers have stopped vehicles, carried out checks on drivers and vehicles, and taken enforcement action against those whose behaviour puts other road users at risk. The aim is to make rural roads safer for everyone, including residents, cyclists, horse riders, farmers and pedestrians.

    We would like to thank the public for continuing to report concerns and share information. These reports help us identify problem areas and direct resources where they are needed most.

    When travelling on rural roads, drivers should take extra care and be prepared for hazards such as sharp bends, wildlife, agricultural vehicles, cyclists and horse riders. It is important to drive at a speed that is suitable for the road and weather conditions, avoid distractions such as mobile phones, make sure your vehicle is well maintained, and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

    We remain committed to improving road safety and will continue to carry out targeted activity across rural communities. If you witness dangerous driving or have concerns about road safety in your area, please report them to Kent Police.

    Highways obstructions.

    Action taken:

    Kent Police continues to work with partner organisations to address reports of obstructions affecting roads, footpaths and other public routes in communities. These obstructions can include abandoned vehicles, agricultural machinery, overgrown vegetation, debris and other items that may affect the safe use of roads and pathways.

    Following reports from local residents, officers have carried out patrols and worked closely with local authorities and highways partners to identify and resolve issues affecting road users. Where appropriate, action has been taken to remove hazards and help ensure routes remain safe and accessible.

    Obstructions on roads and footpaths can create risks for motorists, cyclists, horse riders, pedestrians and agricultural vehicles, particularly on narrow rural roads where visibility may already be limited.

    We would like to thank residents who continue to report concerns and help us identify problem locations. The information provided by local communities helps us work with partners to improve safety and accessibility across the area.

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Action taken:

    We understand the concern and frustration that antisocial use of motorbikes can cause, particularly when it affects public spaces, footpaths, bridleways and rural areas.

    Officers have been carrying out targeted patrols in locations where concerns have been reported and are working to identify those responsible. This activity has led to enforcement action being taken, including the seizure of vehicles linked to illegal or antisocial behaviour.

    We recognise the impact this behaviour can have on local communities and want to reassure residents that reports are taken seriously. Information provided by the public helps officers build a clearer picture of the problem, identify repeat offenders and focus patrols in areas where they are needed most.

    While officers may not always be present when incidents take place, we continue to work with local partners, landowners and other organisations to address the issue and prevent further incidents.

    We would like to thank everyone who has reported concerns and supported our efforts. Information such as descriptions of those involved, photographs, video footage and details of where and when incidents occur can help us take action.

    By continuing to report incidents and share information, local communities can help us make rural areas safer and more enjoyable for everyone. We remain committed to tackling antisocial motorbike use and providing a visible and reassuring presence across the district.
