About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Road safety remains a key concern within Hildenborough, particularly on roads subject to high traffic volumes and recurring reports of speeding or poor driving standards. Ongoing engagement with residents and the Parish Council helps identify areas of concern and understand the impact these issues have on the local community.

Reports are reviewed and, where appropriate, information is shared with relevant partners to support longer-term solutions. Maintaining visibility and engagement allows concerns to be identified early and provides reassurance to residents who raise issues affecting road safety.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Highway obstructions.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Highway obstructions continue to generate concerns from residents where parked vehicles impact visibility, access, or the safe movement of traffic. Whilst many parking and obstruction matters fall outside direct police responsibility, reports are reviewed to determine whether any enforcement powers apply.

Previous concerns relating to vehicles parked around the garage area have largely been resolved, leading to a reduction in complaints. Regular communication with the Parish Council helps ensure new issues are identified promptly and directed to the appropriate agency for action where necessary.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Fly tipping.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Fly tipping remains an issue that periodically affects rural parts of Hildenborough and can have a negative impact on the local environment. Although there have been relatively few reports in recent months, incidents continue to occur and are referred to the relevant authority for investigation and removal.

Where opportunities arise, liaison takes place with council enforcement teams to identify offenders and support any enforcement activity. This includes sharing information and exploring lines of enquiry, such as waste carrier checks, where relevant evidence is available.
