    Nuisance vehicles.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to tackle nuisance vehicles through targeted patrols and enforcement activity across the ward. Recent proactive work has resulted in several off-road motorcycles being seized under enhanced Section 59 powers. Section 59 powers can be used when a vehicle is being driven in a manner that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others, and recent legislative changes mean officers can seize a vehicle without issuing a prior warning in certain circumstances.

    This enforcement activity has contributed to a reduction in reports of nuisance vehicles within the area. Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols, gather intelligence and use appropriate road traffic and antisocial behaviour legislation to identify offenders and prevent the issue from re-emerging. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting incidents, as information from the community helps officers identify those responsible and supports ongoing enforcement activity.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to address road safety concerns through targeted patrols and enforcement activity in response to concerns raised by residents. Several speed enforcement operations have been carried out, resulting in a number of drivers being stopped for road traffic offences. Officers will continue to conduct patrols and enforcement activity at locations identified through community concerns and local intelligence to improve road safety and reduce offending on local roads.

    Further speed enforcement activity is planned, and residents are encouraged to report dangerous, antisocial or inconsiderate driving. Information provided by the community helps officers identify problem locations and direct patrols where they are needed most. Concerns relating to parking enforcement should generally be reported to the local authority unless a vehicle is causing a dangerous obstruction or presents an immediate risk to other road users.

    Vehicle crime.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to tackle vehicle-related crime through proactive patrols and investigations. During the last 2 months, there have been 2 reports of vehicle crime in the area. One involved the theft of vehicle registration plates, while the second related to a stolen vehicle that was quickly recovered by police. As part of that investigation, a suspect was arrested.

    Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Kent Police as soon as possible. Information provided by the community helps officers identify offenders, prevent further offences and take positive action where appropriate. Through ongoing patrols, investigations and community engagement, officers continue to work to reduce vehicle crime and keep local communities safe.
