About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Local officers are aware of the ongoing car meets and associated reckless driving at Hewitts Roundabout. The Roads Policing Unit is carrying out targeted enforcement activity to deter and disrupt these gatherings, while local officers continue to work with the local authority and National Highways to explore measures that will make the location less attractive for this type of activity.

Enforcement action has already been taken, with police issuing a number of penalty notices for dangerous parking on the roundabout. Sevenoaks District Council has also issued Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) fines to drivers involved.

This remains a priority for the local policing team, and officers will continue to tackle unsafe driving and nuisance vehicle activity. Residents are encouraged to report any concerns or information to the police, as this helps direct patrols and enforcement activity. To receive updates and stay in direct contact with your local neighbourhood officer, please join My Community Voice (MCV).

    Issued 14 April 2026

There have been no reported thefts of farming equipment in the area during the past three months. Despite this, local officers remain committed to tackling rural crime through regular patrols and ongoing engagement with the farming community. Farmers, landowners and rural businesses are encouraged to join FarmWatch, which helps police and the rural community share information, receive crime prevention advice and report suspicious activity quickly. For more information, please contact your local neighbourhood officer or join My Community Voice (MCV) to receive updates and stay informed about local policing activity.
