About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

We are aware of ongoing concerns about the use of off-road bikes in the area. Officers continue to carry out proactive patrols on foot and in marked police vehicles, using stop and search powers where appropriate. We regularly engage with residents, respond to reports and discuss concerns at community events throughout the year.

Information provided by local residents has helped officers identify a number of riders, resulting in bike seizures, Section 59 warnings, Community Protection Warnings and court summonses for road traffic offences. A Section 59 warning is a legal warning that can be issued when a vehicle is used in an antisocial manner, and further offending can result in the vehicle being seized.

We will continue to work closely with the community to tackle this issue and encourage residents to report any concerns so that patrols and enforcement activity can be targeted effectively. To receive updates and stay in direct contact with your local neighbourhood officer, please join My Community Voice (MCV).

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have carried out both high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols in identified hotspot areas, alongside targeted days of action to address local concerns. These proactive measures have helped deter antisocial behaviour and vehicle-related offences, resulting in positive outcomes, including the seizure of a nuisance motorcycle. Officers will continue to patrol these areas and take action where offences are identified to help keep the community safe.

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Regular marked vehicle patrols are carried out across the area, resulting in a number of drivers being stopped and dealt with for road traffic offences. These include speeding, poor vehicle condition and driving without valid tax or insurance. Vehicles are seized where appropriate, and officers will continue to carry out proactive patrols and take action against offences that affect road safety.
