About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

    E-scooters / E-bikes.

    Issued 15 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have worked alongside specialist teams to tackle the illegal and unsafe use of e-scooters and e-bikes, recognising that this issue is often linked to other community concerns such as antisocial behaviour and nuisance vehicles. Several targeted days of action have taken place, resulting in positive outcomes and helping to disrupt offending, improve road safety and provide reassurance to local residents. Officers will continue to carry out enforcement activity and respond to concerns raised by the community.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 15 July 2026

    Action taken:

Following concerns about speeding in the area, local officers carried out speed enforcement checks using speed detection equipment. These patrols help officers monitor vehicle speeds, identify drivers breaking the speed limit and respond to concerns raised by residents about road safety. The information gathered also helps officers and partner agencies better understand local traffic issues and consider any further action that may be needed.
