Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Action taken:

PC Godden continues to work to reduce antisocial behaviour across the area, focusing on locations where residents and businesses have reported concerns. Regular patrols are taking place in parks and other public spaces, where officers engage with young people and explain how their behaviour can affect others in the community.

Police are also working closely with the local council to address ongoing issues. As part of this work, Community Protection Warnings and Community Protection Notices have been issued where appropriate. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given when someone's behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community. If the behaviour continues, a Community Protection Notice can be issued, requiring the person to stop the behaviour. Failure to comply with a notice can lead to further enforcement action. These powers help police and partner agencies tackle persistent antisocial behaviour and improve the quality of life for local residents.

Road safety issues.

Action taken:

Concerns about the unsafe and illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes continue to be raised by residents across the area. Officers regularly stop riders to explain the law and highlight the importance of using these vehicles safely and responsibly. Where offences are identified, officers will take appropriate action, which may include seizing vehicles and starting enforcement proceedings to prevent further offences.

This is an issue affecting communities across Thanet, and officers continue to take part in targeted activity to address illegal and dangerous riding. Police are also working with local retailers to ensure they understand the laws relating to the sale and use of e-scooters and e-bikes. By combining enforcement, education and engagement, officers aim to improve safety for riders, pedestrians and other road users.

Road safety continues to be a concern for many residents, and officers are committed to working with the community to address these issues. Reducing speeding and improving road safety requires a long-term approach, so work is ongoing to identify the roads where concerns are greatest. This includes speaking with drivers about safe and considerate driving, encouraging lower speeds and helping to improve safety for everyone who uses the roads.

Officers are also working closely with the local council and specialist police teams as part of wider efforts to reduce speeding and improve road safety across the area. Residents are encouraged to continue sharing their concerns through local engagement events and My Community Voice, as this information helps officers understand community priorities and focus their activity where it is needed most.
