About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Speed checks and proactive patrols are carried out in areas where residents have raised concerns about road safety. Officers use these checks to identify unsafe driving and take appropriate action, which may include issuing traffic offence reports, court summons or making arrests where necessary. We also work with partner organisations and local schools to promote road safety education and encourage safer driving behaviours within the community.

    Action taken:

    Police are actively tackling drug-related crime through targeted patrols, intelligence-led operations and enforcement activity across the area. Officers work closely with specialist teams to disrupt organised drug networks, including county lines activity, and take action against those involved. Information from local residents plays an important role in identifying and addressing drug-related issues, and the public are encouraged to continue reporting any suspicious activity so concerns can be investigated and acted upon.

    Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

    Action taken:

    We work closely with Medway Council, housing providers and youth services to address ongoing issues and help prevent problems from escalating. Where necessary, officers may use powers such as dispersal orders, which require people causing or likely to cause antisocial behaviour to leave an area for a set period. Officers may also issue Community Protection Warnings or Community Protection Notices, which are formal measures used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community. Information provided by residents remains vital and helps police identify concerns, direct patrols and use resources where they are needed most.
