About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers regularly carry out speed checks in Chestfield and work closely with Community Speedwatch volunteers to identify locations where speeding is reported.

This activity helps officers monitor concerns, encourage safer driving and target enforcement where it is most needed. As part of ongoing road safety work, a number of uninsured vehicles have been seized and removed from the road. Officers have also issued Traffic Offence Reports to drivers found breaking road traffic laws. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal way of dealing with a driving offence and may result in further action, such as a driving awareness course, a fixed penalty or prosecution.

We will continue to work with local communities and road safety partners to address speeding concerns and help keep roads safe for everyone.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/E-bikes.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to take action against the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes in the area. Where these vehicles are being used unlawfully, officers have powers to stop riders, seize the vehicle and take enforcement action.

It is important to remember that privately owned e-scooters cannot currently be used on public roads, cycle lanes or pavements. Riders found using them illegally may have their vehicle seized and could receive a Traffic Offence Report. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal notice issued by police when a road traffic offence has been committed and may result in further action, such as a fine, penalty points or prosecution.

We will continue to carry out patrols and take appropriate action where offences are identified to help improve safety for all road users.

    Actioned 30 September 2026

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Issued 20 July 2026

    Action taken:

There have been reports of nuisance motorbike activity in the area, and officers are carrying out patrols in locations where concerns have been raised.

Working with information provided by local residents and community representatives, officers are gathering intelligence to identify those responsible and take appropriate action where offences are identified. This may include enforcement action against riders who are using motorcycles illegally or in an antisocial manner.

Patrols will continue to focus on areas affected by nuisance motorbike activity to help reduce disruption and improve safety for local communities.
