About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    Catapults.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to work with partner organisations to address concerns about catapult-related antisocial behaviour and wildlife crime in the Bockhanger and Bybrook areas.

    Increased patrols have been carried out in hotspot locations, helping to deter offending and identify those responsible. This work has resulted in an Acceptable Behaviour Agreement and a Community Protection Warning being issued. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given when a person's behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. Officers continue to work with those involved and monitor compliance to help prevent further incidents.

    Targeted patrols in locations identified by residents and Neighbourhood Watch groups have also resulted in several catapults being seized and removed from use. Through ongoing enforcement, education and partnership working, officers continue to tackle catapult misuse and protect local residents and wildlife.

    Road safety issues.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to work with local businesses and partners to address concerns about antisocial and dangerous driving. Following reports from residents and businesses, targeted patrols and enforcement activity have been carried out in areas where concerns have been raised. This work has helped officers identify vehicles linked to antisocial driving, including excessive speeding, unnecessary engine revving and other behaviour that puts road users at risk. Where appropriate, officers have taken action against drivers and issued warnings. Continued offending may result in further enforcement action, including vehicle seizure. Officers will continue to monitor the area, respond to community concerns and take action against those whose driving has a negative impact on local residents.

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Action taken:

    Officers continue to work with the Roads Policing Unit to tackle the antisocial use of motorcycles in the area. Targeted operations have been carried out in locations identified through reports from residents, helping officers identify offenders, gather intelligence and take enforcement action where appropriate. These patrols have focused on areas where motorcycles have been ridden in an antisocial manner, including footpaths and public open spaces. Officers continue to respond to information provided by the community and carry out follow-up enquiries to identify those responsible. Through ongoing enforcement activity and partnership working, officers aim to reduce the impact of nuisance motorcycles and improve safety for local residents.
