About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Shop thefts

    Issued 02 May 2026

    Action taken:

Patrols will continue to conduct high visibility presence over the coming weeks and build intelligence around prolific offenders.

    Actioned 02 May 2026

  • Priority:

    Drugs

    Issued 02 May 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to review and act on drugs intelligence. For operational and data protection reasons we are unable to give specific details of locations / premises or persons that we are currently investigating. We have been working with other agencies to tackle individuals of concern linked to drug misuse.

We ask that you report any concerns around drugs misuse that you have. You may have information that adds to an ongoing concern, and this can really help when we apply for Warrants. You can speak to us at any Police Station in confidence or alternatively report anonymously via ‘CrimeStoppers’ at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/

    Actioned 02 May 2026

  • Priority:

    Anti-Social Behaviour

    Issued 02 May 2026

    Action taken:

With lighter nights there has been a rise in ASB across the Cottingham area. These incidents include criminal damage, the riding of illegal E-bikes and off-road bikes anti-socially in the town centre. We will be identifying the culprits and dealing with them.
