Your local policing team
Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.
Following our recent Police and Community Together Meeting (PACT) Burglary has been identified as a concern across the area with a reported increase in dwelling burglary and non dwelling burglaries continuing to effect our rural community. This priority s

We continue to live alongside the significant impact of the Covid-19 pandemic which has seen us police in new and challenging ways. We continue to police by consent and address the concerns of the community in relation to both Covid-19 and more traditional crime. On 28/10/2020 we held the first of our virtual Police and Community Together (PACT) meetings with local and district counsellors, community leaders and neighbourhood watch leads. Historically these meetings were held face to face. Various matters were discussed during the meeting with one clear and common concern around the number of residential burglaries being reported across the area. Since March of this year we have seen 21 reported residential burglaries in the beat area. These burglary statistics will include attempted burglaries and burglaries to sheds and other outbuildings situated on residential grounds. The community clearly hold concerns over this crime trend and as such this will become the focus of the Hart North Rural team over the next three months. We will look to actively patrol vulnerable locations in order to prevent crime. We will look to increase the amount of crime prevention advice we provide to the community to better protect you. We will also look to work with our investigations strand who collate and target specific methods of burglary and offenders who operate over a larger area. We will maximise any opportunity for investigation looking at forensic potential and other relevant enquiries. What can you do to support these efforts? We heavily rely on our community to report any suspicious activity. This can sometimes be the pre cursor to a crime taking place. Reporting incidents is now easier than ever via our online service at www.hampshire.police.uk. Each report is looked at and assessed by the beat team. Where possible, we will maximise any opportunity to identify any persons seen. Since March of this year we have had over 230 suspicious incidents reported for the Hart North Rural area. This is a fantastic achievement and really aids our patrols and operational planning. You know the area where you live and work. If something does not look or seem right then please, let us know. You could prevent a crime. We will look to update you further at the end of the month on our progress to date.
