About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour

    Issued 28 April 2026

    Action taken:

Your neighbourhood officers are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) through engagement, collaborative working and problem solving.

Everybody has the right to feel safe in their community, and we’ll take robust action against those acting disorderly and those who have an adverse impact on the wellbeing of our towns.

The team will proactively patrol hotspot areas, providing a visible deterrent with partners.

Officers will also utilise the well-established Safer Caerphilly Anti-Social Behaviour 4 Strike Process to address poor behaviour.

Officers have issued several Anti-social behaviour referrals to youths identified as causing issues in the area and will continue to patrol these hotspots

    Actioned 27 December 2026

  • Priority:

    Shopifting

    Issued 28 April 2026

    Action taken:

Your local neighbourhood officers are targeting shoplifting and other retail crimes through high-visibility policing patrols and by engaging with local retailers. We’re working with colleagues in We Don’t Buy Crime to advise businesses how best to increase security and minimise the risk of offenders returning to their premises. We’ll be visible in the are continuing to work alongside partners at the council.

Several known shoplifters have received custodial sentences as a result of work by the Caerphilly Neighbourhood Team and we will continue to tackle shoplifters
