Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

In recent months area has been targeted by burglaries. Suspects have been entering homes and sheds by causing damage, mainly to doors. Carrying out a quick search of the property and taking items of value. Namely E-Bikes, E-scooters, high value items such as jewellery and vehicle car keys.

    Issued 25 February 2026

    Action taken:

The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team have completed extensive CCTV enquires and door to door enquires in the areas that have been effected which has led to the identification of the suspects who have been arrested and are currently being investigated for these crimes. There has also been an increase of high visibility patrols in the area as well as crime prevention advice being sent out via Your Community Alerts

    Actioned 25 February 2026

  • Priority:

In recent weeks there have been a number of reports where opportunists have been trying car doors, these have both been vehicles on driveways and vehicles parked on the road. They are looking to access vehicles and take anything of value. This includes spare change that is left in the centre consoles of vehicles

    Issued 14 May 2026

    Action taken:

The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team have been carrying out operations in plain clothes in the location, at the times that the offences are taking place to actively detain and identify the suspects. This will continue in the area for the foreseeable future. Crime prevention advice and further updates will be sent out via Your Community Alerts to local residents.

    Actioned 14 May 2026

  • Priority:

The area is mostly rural, compared to its closer neighbouring areas, and therefore has its own unique priority. The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team has its own Rural Crime Officer embedded into the team. They are currently working on preventing Hare Coursing in the area so that local farmers are not affected by the financial impact that can occur from Hare Coursing taking place on their land.

    Issued 25 February 2026

    Action taken:

The Rural Crime Officer is currently making contact with local farming communities, help to educate them on crime prevention, and increasing patrols at times where Hare Coursing would take place.

    Actioned 25 February 2026
