About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Concerns from residents about Anti-Social behaviour in key hotspot locations including Clacton town centre retail areas and seafront (Pier Ward, promenade and car parks), Jaywick residential areas with repeat demand, Walton and Frinton seafront and greensward areas, Brightlingsea waterfront and marina, and Harwich town centre, port areas and surrounding public spaces.

    Issued 02 July 2026

    Action taken:

We’ve been listening to residents and understand concerns about Anti-Social behaviour across key hotspot locations.

In response, we will ensure Neighbourhood Policing Teams respond to ASB through high-visibility and targeted patrols, supported by hotspot policing and problem-solving plans.

We will focus on partnership working with Tendring District Council, CSP, licensing, youth services and partners to address root causes and prevent escalation, alongside joint working with Roads Policing to tackle nuisance vehicles, speeding and vehicle-related ASB.

Officers will continue ongoing engagement with residents and businesses to identify issues early and will use appropriate powers where required, including dispersals, community protection warnings and notices (CPWs/CPNs), public spaces protection orders (PSPOs) and Section 59 vehicle powers.

    Actioned 02 July 2026

  • Priority:

Concerns about vehicle offending across hotspots including Clacton, Jaywick, Harwich, Walton and Frinton seafront areas, and key road networks across Manningtree, Lawford and rural routes.

    Issued 02 July 2026

    Action taken:

We’ve been listening to concerns about vehicle crime and vehicle-related ASB across hotspot locations and key road networks.

In response, we will deliver a proactive, intelligence-led approach combining targeted patrols, ANPR and plain-clothes activity.

We will focus on joint operations with Roads Policing including stop checks, enforcement and disruption activity, targeting vehicles linked to crime, recovering stolen vehicles and targeting repeat offenders and organised groups.

Officers will continue to support crime prevention messaging delivered through engagement and social media.

    Actioned 02 July 2026

  • Priority:

Concerns about domestic abuse and repeat victimisation in vulnerable communities where repeat demand and harm are identified.

    Issued 02 July 2026

    Action taken:

We recognise concerns about domestic abuse and repeat victimisation within vulnerable communities.

In response, we will ensure officers work with safeguarding teams and partner organisations to identify and protect people at high risk.

We will focus on taking action to manage individuals responsible for repeated harm, gathering evidence to support investigations and secure positive outcomes, supported by strong referral pathways, safeguarding and safety planning.

Officers will continue ongoing engagement to ensure people are directed to appropriate support services.

    Actioned 02 July 2026
