About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

A range of Anti-social Behaviour incidents have been reported across the area. Neighbourhood Policing and Prevention Teams will be carrying out high-visibility patrols and working with partner agencies to provide reassurance and address these concerns.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Anti social behaviour (ASB) has been identified as a local concern. We will look to reduce anti social behaviour within our communities by being visible at known locations and working with partner agencies to deter such behaviour.

    * NPPT officers will deal positively with offenders causing ASB by utilising our ASB Power Tools e.g. 'ASB Warning Letters'
    * Persons caught riding E-Scooters in a public place may have their scooters seized.
    * Community meetings and engagements will be held to give the public the opportunity to tell NPPT officers their concerns.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

Road Safety - Neighbourhood and Roads Policing officers will be addressing concerns raised by community members in relation to speeding vehicles

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Road safety issues have been identified as a local concern. We will conduct speed awareness operations in conjunction with the Roads Policing Unit and the Local Authority. We will also look to target those driving anti socially within our communities.

    Actioned 01 July 2026

  • Priority:

Concerns have been raised about the use of E-Scooters and scrambler bikes in the area. Officers will be focusing on enforcement and engagement to address the issue.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Increased patrols in hotspot areas will be conducted in joint operations with partner agencies and South Wales Police to tackle the issue by seizing the vehicles and dealing with offenders robustly.
