About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    1. Anti-Social Behaviour on the corner of New Scott Street, Jellicoe Street and Main Street in Whaley Thorns.
    2. Nuisance vehicles on Devonshire Drive in Langwith.
    3. Criminal Damage occurring in and around Whaley Thorns.

    Action taken:

    1. High visibility patrols in the area, making use of the Public Spaces Protection Order that is already in place and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to anyone in breach of the order. Working together closely with partner agencies and other Policing Teams in order to jointly tackle the issues in the area.
    2. High visibility patrols in Langwith. Using legislations and powers to issue warnings/seize the nuisance vehicles. Organise patrols alongside the Off-Road Bike Team in order to tackle the Nuisance Off-Road Bikes. Developing Intelligence as to who the suspects are.
    3. Reviewing incidents and making use of Power Bi to locate hotspots for criminal damage and working closely with partner agencies in order to identify suspects. Making use of local intelligence and the Public Spaces Protection Order which is already in place in order to disperse groups of youths from hotspot areas.
