About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

    1. Church Street/ Charlotte Street- street drinking, public urination and anti-social Behaviour
    2. Warwick avenue dangerous driving and speeding
    3. Violence against Women and Girls awareness and encouraging reporting.

    Action taken:

    1. Liasing with Derby City Councils Community Safety teams and housing associations to look at resolutions for prolific and repeat offenders; including, but not limited to Community Protection Notices, Arrests, Dispersals and House Closures
    2. Reports of speeding vehicles on Warwick Avenue; Police led speedwatches and Community Speedwatch to monitor and enforce at that location. Liaison with Derby City Council regarding exploring long term traffic calming measures.
    3. Education, awareness and encouragement of reporting, in particular Seldom heard communities, or areas where English is not a first language.
