About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    1 – Road Safety/Speeding Vehicles/Parking
2 – Drug use and drug dealing
    3 – Residential burglary

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

1 – Road Safety/Speeding Vehicles/Parking Road safety remains a key concern locally, particularly in relation to speeding vehicles, unsafe parking, and vehicle obstructions.
    • Conduct high-visibility patrols and speed awareness operations at identified locations.
    • Work in partnership with local parking enforcement to address areas of concern and improve compliance.

2 – Drug use and drug dealing Residents have raised concerns regarding drug use and suspected drug dealing within the community.
    • Gather and develop intelligence relating to individuals involved in drug-related activity.
    • Carry out proactive work to disrupt drug use and dealing, while working with partner agencies to offer support and diversion opportunities where appropriate.

3 – Residential burglary Although there has not been a recent increase in reports, burglary remains a concern for local residents.
    • The Safer Neighbourhood Team will host regular home security events, offering advice on how to protect properties.
    • Conduct targeted evening patrols in areas that are more frequently affected, with the aim of deterring and identifying offenders.
