About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Anti social Behaviour
    Drug Use
    Nuisance Vehicles
    Speeding Vehicles

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Anti Social Behaviour – Drug Use
We have had reports from residents of drug use in our communities and we appreciate the impacts this is having. Drug use is illegal and needs to be tackled robustly and swiftly by police.
    Action –
    · Additional patrols in areas identified as being hot spots for drug use by residents and use of intelligence systems to disrupt those involved in drugs
    · Use policing powers including Stop and search powers
    · Appropriate action taken against those who are committing crimes – this will include education, ASB powers and prosecution.

Nuisance vehicles – We’re aware of vehicles locally being used in a anti social manner, popping of exhausts, excessively revving and being general nuisance in Chapel-en-le-Frith. This has been brought to our attention a number of times and we are keen to tackle this issue
    Action –
    · We will utilise intelligence and local ANPR to proactively patrol and disrupt those who use vehicles to cause a nuisance on our communities.
    · We will take action by using our ASB and road policing powers to issue S59’s, traffic offence reports and seizure powers to prosecute and take these drivers and vehicles off the road.

    Speeding
Speeding is a big concern in all parts of the local area, but certain locations have been highlighted by residents.
    Action -
    · We are conducting regular speed check throughout the area along with our Road Safety Team (CREST). Already we have issued traffic offence reports (TORs) to drivers exceeding the speed limit.
    · Residents have already set up Community Speedwatch schemes which are running well and would encourage anyone who is interested in setting up a scheme in their area to email the Speedwatch Team. [email protected]
