About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

Anti-social vehicle use. Anti-social behaviour Drug dealing

    Issued 22 April 2025

    Action taken:

We are still seeing incidents and reports of anti-social use of vehicles and noise nuisance complaints. We know Buxton has a big population of car lovers and we understand that. Unfortunately, there is a small group of drivers who are continuing to congregate in the town centre to drive dangerously, use their engines and modifications on their vehicle to cause excessive noise and nuisance. There is currently a problem management plan running for the spring gardens car park where we are looking at tackling the anti-social use of vehicles. Officers are working closely with other agencies and businesses to create new links and events for drivers to benefit from while also resolving these issues. As good weather approaches, we know more and more of you will want to get outside. We are currently seeing a rise in anti-social behaviour in around the town centre with businesses and other parts of the community being affected by the behaviour of some. We ask you to be mindful and alert. We are working closely with businesses to come together to take a joint approach to tackle any behaviour which is affecting our town. The local Safter neighbourhood team will be out on foot patrolling the town and will be engaging with you. However, we will be take action if required. Drug dealing is continuing to be a priority for us as a safer neighbourhood team. We are continuing to get reports of drug dealing and concerns around the use of drugs. The team will be continuing to conduct patrols in hot spot areas where these issues are taking place. We welcome any members of the public who have information or concerns to come forward and we will look to use this information anonymously.
