Criminal use of bikes - South Bank

    Issued 17 August 2026

    Action taken:

The Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to focus on the prevention, identification, and apprehension of individuals using off-road bikes illegally.
The Proactive Team has seized 111 off-road bikes and quad bikes, including a number operating within Cleveland Police and that includes a large quantity in the South Bank area.
Targeted operations, including Operation Endurance and Operation Checkpoint, have resulted in the seizure and removal of quad bikes and other off-road motorcycles from our communities.
The Greater Eston Inspector continues to chair partnership meetings dedicated to addressing off-road bike-related issues. As a result, rock armour has been installed at key locations to prevent quad bikes from accessing footpaths, green spaces, and other vulnerable areas, helping to reduce associated anti-social behaviour.
Following consultation with the Mayor and local partner agencies, additional locations have been identified for the installation of rock armour, further restricting access for off-road bikes, particularly quad bikes. Working with local housing providers, further areas have also been identified for preventative measures.
Community intelligence remains essential in identifying where this activity is taking place. We will continue working with residents and partners to disrupt, deter, and remove illegal off-road bikes and quad bikes from our streets.

    Drug dealing - South Bank

    Issued 17 August 2026

    Action taken:

During community meetings, officers listen to residents' concerns and develop dedicated patrol plans aimed at disrupting the supply and distribution of illegal drugs within the ward. We rely heavily on intelligence provided by the public, which is always treated with the strictest confidence and shared only with trusted partners where appropriate.
We continue to target the use of Surron electric bikes, which are frequently utilised in the distribution of illegal drugs. We welcome all reports relating to drug dealing, including anonymous information, as this plays a vital role in helping us tackle drug-related crime within the community.
Recently, a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search was conducted within the South Bank ward, resulting in a positive outcome.

  • Priority:

Anti Social Behaviour - South Bank

    Issued 17 August 2026

    Action taken:

The Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team remains committed to reducing anti-social behaviour across the ward. Working alongside our partner agencies, we continue to implement effective measures to address and prevent disorder.
A problem-solving plan remains in place at Low Grange Retail Park, including McDonald's, Tesco, and Aldi, and has contributed to a noticeable reduction in anti-social behaviour within the area. Over the past three months, PCSOs have issued AS13 warnings to individuals involved in anti-social behaviour.
Regular high-visibility patrols are carried out throughout the ward to deter anti-social behaviour, tackle community concerns, and provide reassurance to residents.
The team has also conducted school visits, helping young people to build positive relationships with officers and gain a greater understanding of policing and community responsibility.
Regular community engagement events continue to be held across the ward, providing residents with opportunities to discuss local concerns, share information, and help shape local policing priorities
