About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

  • Priority:

Criminal use of bikes - South Bank

    Issued 26 May 2026

    Action taken:

South Bank: The Greater Eston teams continue to focus on the prevention, identification and arrest of individuals using off‑road bikes illegally.

Targeted operations, including Operation Endurance and Operation Checkpoint, have resulted in the removal of quad bikes and other off‑road motorcycles. Community intelligence and technology also enabled the recovery of a stolen catering trailer, which had been taken using quad bikes.

The Greater Eston Inspector continues to chair partnership meetings dedicated to tackling ORB‑related issues. As a result, rock armour has been installed in key areas to prevent quad bikes from accessing footpaths and green spaces, helping to reduce associated ASB.

Working closely with the community provides the best intelligence on where this activity is taking place. We will continue to disrupt, deter and remove off‑road bikes and quads from our streets.

  • Priority:

    Drug dealing - South Bank

    Issued 26 May 2026

    Action taken:

South Bank: During community meetings, officers listen to public concerns and develop dedicated patrol plans aimed at disrupting the supply of drugs within the ward. We rely heavily on information from the public, which is always treated with the strictest confidentiality and shared only with trusted partners.

We continue to disrupt the use of Surron electric bikes, which are frequently used in the distribution of drugs. We welcome all reports of drug dealing— including anonymous information— as this greatly assists our efforts to tackle drug‑related crime within the community.

  • Priority:

Anti Social Behaviour - South Bank

    Issued 26 May 2026

    Action taken:

South Bank: The Greater Eston Neighbourhood Team remains committed to reducing ASB across the ward. Working alongside our partners, we continue to implement effective measures to address and prevent disorder.

A problem‑solving plan is in place for Low Grange Retail Park (McDonald’s, Tesco and Aldi), which has contributed to a reduction in ASB in the area. Over the past three months, PCSOs have issued AS13 warnings to individuals involved in anti‑social behaviour.

Regular high‑visibility patrols are carried out across the ward to deter ASB and reassure the public. School visits have also taken place, helping pupils build trust with officers and understand the role of policing in their community.

We will continue to work with partners to highlight the consequences of ASB, including the potential impact on an individual’s residential status. Community intelligence has been crucial in identifying those responsible for ASB and drug‑related activity. We have targeted specific individuals and are progressing an additional Criminal Behaviour Order against a persistent offender.

A knife amnesty was recently held at Golden Boy Green, supporting our ongoing efforts to reduce knife crime.
