Criminal use of bikes - Grangetown

    Issued 26 May 2026

    Action taken:

Grangetown: Greater Eston Neighbourhood police team continue to respond proactively to concerns surrounding the illegal and antisocial use of off-road bikes across the community. Officers are carrying out targeted patrols as well as pre planned operations. OP ENDURANCE targets the use of ORB’s in the local Greater Eston ward areas and OP CHECKPOINT targets the use of ORB’s in rural areas, also targeting cross border crime.

We continue to work closely with residents and partnership agencies to gather intelligence and take enforcement action where appropriate. The Greater Eston Inspector continues to hold and chair partnership meetings specifically about the use of ORB’s being used in the community.

In the last three months the Grangetown ward has seen some positive results in tackling this issue including the locating and seizure of four stolen motorbikes, the recovery of a stolen car and a car seized and the driver reported for summons, for committing traffic offences and driving whilst disqualified. Residents are encouraged to report incidents, provide information, and continue to support local efforts to reduce illegal bike / vehicle use. Information provided by the public plays a vital role in helping officers identify offenders and take appropriate action.

    Drug dealing - Grangetown

    Issued 26 May 2026

    Action taken:

Grangetown: The Greater Eston police team continue to take robust action in tackling drug related activity and the harm it causes within the community. Neighbourhood officers are working proactively to identify and disrupt those involved in drug dealing through targeted patrols, intelligence led operations and warrants and working with partner agencies.

Drug dealing can have a serious impact on residents, often contributing to anti-social behaviour, violence, exploitation and wider community concerns. Police remain committed to addressing these issues by carrying out warrants, conducting stop searches where appropriate and increasing patrols in identified hot spot areas.

In the last three months on the Grangetown ward there have been two successful Drugs warrants actioned on properties that were causing issues to the local community through their involvement in drug dealing. One warrant was conducted under OP ARTEMIS which is a committed day of action involving many different police departments to tackle crime and serious disorder in our areas. In all, 3 nominals were arrested and dealt with for Possessing with intent to supply class A drugs. There have also been other successful warrants conducted on other wards across the Graeter Eston area some resulting in orders being granted by the courts for the closure of the properties.

We encourage anyone who witnesses drug dealing activity or has any information relating to such behaviour to contact police and welcome any reports which may assist us to tackle this crime, even if reported anonymously.

  • Priority:

    Anti Social Behaviour - Grangetown

    Issued 26 May 2026

    Action taken:

Grangetown: Greater Eston Neighbourhood police team continue to work closely with residents, community partners and to tackle issues relating to anti-social behaviour on the ward area. Officers continue to carry out high visibility foot and mobile patrols in identified hot spot areas.

In the last three months, the Grangetown ward area did see a spate of anti-social behaviour in the area of Fabian Court whereby youths were causing issues for local stores and the Eston Labour Club. Patrols were carried out and staff from the establishments visited by officers. One youth was given and anti-social behaviour warning notice for their actions. Calls for this area have reduced over recent weeks however local officers will continue to monitor this.

The ward PCSO’s continue to issue AS13 warnings for anti-social behaviour and with the ASB officer from the council to deliver anti-social behaviour agreements to monitor and hold the individuals accountable. We will continue to work with partners to highlight the consequences of their actions and the impact this could have on their residential status within the community to deter their mission of causing disruption.
This has only been achievable through your information as a community, and we will be continuing to patrol these areas and act on your intelligence with regards to where the ASB is happening.
