About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

The Neighbourhood Policing Team are looking into various reports of ASB in and around Peasedown St John, particularly on Orchard Way. In recent weeks damage has been caused to bus shelters and trees. Also, there have been incidents of doors being knocked on in the very early hours and reports that a group of young males are involved in killing wildlife such as birds and hedgehogs.

The group of young males involved in this behaviour are said to be aged around 14 years.  Although the number of official reports to Police is limited the Neighbourhood Team are aware of several incidents that have not been reported.

We are asking the public to report incidents of criminal damage wildlife crime and ASB to Police either by calling 101 or filling out an online report using the link below.  If you have any information as to the identity of those responsible for any of the incidents described, please contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team

Report | Avon and Somerset Police

    Issued 11 September 2026

    Action taken:

As Halloween approaches, we will be increasing our anti-social behaviour patrols across the area to help ensure that everyone can enjoy the occasion safely and responsibly.
If you are planning to go trick-or-treating, please be considerate and respectful of local residents. While many people enjoy taking part, some may find unexpected knocks at the door unsettling or intimidating, particularly elderly or vulnerable members of our community.
Let’s work together to make Halloween a fun, safe, and enjoyable event for everyone. If you witness anti-social behaviour or have concerns, please report them to the police.

    Actioned 20 October 2026

  • Priority:

There are increasing reports of youths or young people who are driving cars without either licence or not in accordance with their licence.  The cars are in some cases uninsured, untaxed and are not road legal i.e. with no MOT.  They are driving around the area sometimes with several other people who are of a same or similar age.

We are aware youths are either purchasing cars for a low price on facebook or taking parents cars in the middle of the night.

We are encouraging parents to have conversations with their young people around the dangers of this behaviour, and we are asking members of the public to report any suspicious activity, driving or sightings that maybe linked.

    Issued 11 September 2026

    Action taken:

We have received video footage showing a number of youths racing vehicles along the country lanes around Stoney Littleton.
The vehicles involved are believed to be two Vauxhall Astras, both of which are currently recorded as having no valid tax or insurance. At this time, we have not been able to confirm the registered keeper details for either vehicle.
These vehicles are also being linked to other criminal offences, and enquiries remain ongoing.
We are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings of suspicious vehicles, particularly Vauxhall Astras, in the area. If safe to do so, please note registration numbers, descriptions, locations and times of sightings and report them to police.
Your information could assist with ongoing investigations and help keep our rural roads safe.
