About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

We are aware of ongoing issues with illegal and anti‑social motorcycle use in Stoke Park, involving off‑road bikes and unregistered vehicles being ridden in a manner that causes danger or nuisance to the public. We are urging residents to report any incidents they witness so that we can take effective action. Reports can be made via 101, 999 in an emergency, or through our online reporting channels. Any information—such as descriptions, locations, or timings—helps us build a clearer picture of what is happening.

Under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, officers have the power to issue warnings and seize vehicles being used in a way that causes alarm, distress, or annoyance, including riding off‑road in parks or other unauthorised areas.

Your reports directly assist us in identifying offenders, planning targeted patrols, and removing illegal motorcycles from the area. We are committed to making Stoke Park safer, and community information plays a crucial role in helping us take decisive action.

    Issued 26 June 2026

    Action taken:

We have received positive feedback from local residents indicating that this activity on Stoke Park has become less of a disturbance.

Please be aware that motorcycles being used in a public place must have the appropriate insurance in place. Failure to do so may result in the vehicle being seized by police.

Help Us Keep Your Community Safe from Drugs

Drugs damage lives and communities. We’re committed to tackling this issue head-on, and we need your help.

    What We’re Doing

    Neighbourhood officers are actively:
    • Carrying out targeted patrols in areas where drug activity is suspected
    • Acting on intelligence and reports from the community
    • Taking enforcement action against offenders
    Recent successes include:
    • Several individuals prosecuted for drug-related offences, with some receiving custodial sentences

    How to Spot Drug Activity

You can make a difference by staying alert. Common signs include:
    • Frequent visitors to a property at all hours, often for short stays
    • Strong smells (such as cannabis) from a property or vehicle
    • Windows blacked out or curtains permanently closed
    • Excessive security measures like cameras or reinforced doors
    • Discarded drug paraphernalia (small bags, foil, syringes)
    • Anti-social behaviour linked to a specific location
    • Sudden changes in a neighbour’s behaviour or lifestyle

If you notice any of these signs, please report it.

    How to Report

    • Avon and Somerset Police: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/report
    • Crimestoppers: https://crimestoppers-uk.org – an independent UK charity

Together, we can make our communities safer.

    Issued 28 February 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to proactively pursue and gather intelligence in and around Lockleaze, which will support ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal drug activity in the area.

Please report any information or concerns, including details of individuals you believe may be involved in drug dealing. Reports can be made via 101, online at https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/report, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at https://crimestoppers-uk.org.

Community Alert: Shoplifting at Eastgate Retail Park

We’ve seen a rise in shoplifting incidents at Eastgate Retail Park. These crimes affect retailers, shoppers, and staff, and we’re taking action to address the issue.

    What We’re Doing

    Neighbourhood officers are:
    • Targeting prolific offenders causing harm in the area
    • Increasing high-visibility patrols
    • Working closely with retailers to improve reporting and share intelligence
    • Planning "Talk to Us" events at the location to engage with the community

    How to Report Shoplifting

If you witness or are affected by shoplifting:
    • Call 999 if the crime is in progress
    • Report non-emergency incidents via https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/report
    • Or report anonymously via https://crimestoppers-uk.org

    Shoplifting Prevention Tips for Retailers

    • Display clear signage about CCTV and anti-theft policies
    • Train staff to spot suspicious behaviour and respond safely
    • Position staff near entrances and high-value areas
    • Keep displays tidy to make missing items noticeable
    • Restrict access to stockrooms and staff-only areas
    • Maintain and review CCTV systems regularly
    • Report all incidents, even minor ones
    • Share intelligence with neighbouring stores and police

    Community Safety Tips

Everyone can help keep Eastgate Retail Park safe:
    • Stay alert while shopping
    • Report suspicious behaviour to store staff or police
    • Avoid confronting offenders — report safely and discreetly
    • Keep personal belongings secure and out of sight
    • If you feel unsafe, seek help from store staff or security
    • Encourage others to report incidents — even small details help

Together, we can reduce crime and keep Eastgate Retail Park safe for everyone.

    Issued 28 February 2026

    Action taken:

The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), as well as the Neighbourhood Tasking Team are conducting Operation Conquest – which will focus around providing high visibility patrols within Eastgate Retail Centre. In addition to this, unpredictable plain clothes patrols to deter, detect and prosecute offenders, will also be conducted.
