    Local Schools at Merriott and local villagesEnsuring the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and families within the school community is a top priority. I am committed to promoting safe road-use behaviours through a combination of education, visible enforcement, and ongoing collaboration with school leadership. 

    My focus includes reducing speeding in school zones, improving awareness around considerate and safe parking, increasing driver awareness during peak times such as pick-up and drop-off, and responding effectively to any road safety concerns raised by the school community.

    Merriott and Hinton St George Villages

    We have received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour within the villages of Merriott and Hinton St George. Ensuring that public spaces remain safe and enjoyable for all members of the community is extremely important.

    Following enquiries, we have identified concerns relating to groups of young people gathering in local parks, where reports have included general anti-social behaviour, suspected illegal activity, and allegations of drug use. These reports have understandably raised concerns among residents.

    We are exploring ways to address these issues in partnership with local authorities, schools, and community groups. Increased patrols and community engagement initiatives will play an important role in deterring anti-social behaviour and improving public confidence.

    Farmer Watch GroupsSupport for North Perrott, Haselbury, and South Petherton

    We have received numerous reports of rural and farm-related crime within the North Perrott, Haselbury, and South Petherton areas. Keeping our rural communities safe and enjoyable for everyone remains a priority.

    We are exploring ways to address these issues by encouraging greater vigilance, improving security measures, and promoting the marking and recording of valuable property and equipment.

    Increased patrols and ongoing community engagement are essential in deterring criminal activity and providing reassurance to residents and landowners.
