About us

About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Policing priorities

  • Priority:

We’ve received a number of reports and intelligence relating to the sale of vapes to underage children within the local area. The sale of vaping products (including e-cigarettes and e-liquids) to anyone under the age of 18 is illegal, and businesses found to be doing so may face enforcement action.

We are working closely with Trading Standards to identify retailers who may be breaching the law, and appropriate action will be taken where offences are identified. We would like to remind parents and carers to be aware of the potential risks associated with vaping, particularly for young people, and to speak with their children about the dangers and legal implications. If you have any information about shops selling vapes to underage children, or any concerns about this issue, please report it to us via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always call 999. Your information helps us keep our community safe.

Drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in public spaces are current concerns within the local area. The local Beat Team is actively addressing these issues through both overt and covert policing methods, with a focus on identifying and disrupting those involved in the supply and use of illegal drugs. If you witness any suspicious activity, please report it to us as soon as possible.

Increase in Anti-Social Behaviour at South Bristol Retail Park

We have seen a rise in reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) around South Bristol Retail Park. Groups of youths have been engaging in disruptive activities both in the surrounding area and inside the shops. Examples include:

    • Throwing food and littering
    • Damaging property, including bathrooms
    • Intimidating staff and customers

This behaviour is unacceptable and impacts the safety and enjoyment of the community.

If you witness any incidents of anti-social behaviour, please contact the police immediately. You can report via:

    • 999– in an emergency or if a crime is in progress
    • 101– for non-emergency situations
    • Or use the online reporting service at www.avonandsomerset.police.uk
    Stay Safe
    • Avoid confrontation
    • Report incidents promptly
    • Share information with store staff or security

ASB impacts the safety and enjoyment of the community. Together, we can make the retail park a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Your information helps us take action and keep the area safe for everyone.
