Joe was appointed Transformation Director for the Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police alliance in July, 2017
Commissioned into the British Army in 1985, he served in The Royal Irish Regiment and The Parachute Regiment. He is a graduate of both the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, where he also taught on the staff, and of The Royal College of Defence Studies. Whilst at the Royal College his studies included examining the approach to strategic planning used by the justice system, industry, policing, prisons, public health, education and media organisations in the West Midlands.
His operational service has included several tours in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan where he commanded a Battlegroup in 2008. He has held a series of posts dealing with strategy and operations at the national level, and led major business change programmes in both national and multinational organisations.
He is married with three children, and follows Worcester Warriors Rugby Club.
