Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities in this neighbourhood.

Priority

The Safer Neighbourhood Team have received a number of reports of anti-social behaviour being conducted on the grounds of Cordwell Park and recreational ground.  People using the area are feeling let down by those participating in drug use and associated behaviour.

December 2018 - High visibility patrols to identify those involved and to act as a deterrent.

Drug dealing on a local housing estate.

Action taken

SNT liaised with Traffic Management Department, West Mercia Police to discuss signage and problem areas.

SNT monitored situation and carried out targeted speed checks in and around Wem:

  • In May 2018 - Speed enforcement/monitoring conducted Shawbury, Harmer Hill, Mill Street and Whitchurch Road, Wem.
  • These have been followed up with Further checks in July at Harmer Hill, Wem, Lee Brockhurst

In addition SNT met with Police Traffic Management Advisor around issues outside Shawbury Primary school, Palms Hill Wem, Myddle and Clive.
