I joined West Mercia Police as a Police Constable in 2001, but had previously served as a Police Cadet and a Special Constable.

I have spent the majority of my service in Shrewsbury & South Shropshire, and I have worked in the areas of Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Church Stretton. I have always worked in frontline roles including Patrol, Safer Neighbourhood Teams and Custody.

I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007, and to the rank of Inspector in 2014. As an Inspector I was responsible for a team of Patrol Constables and Sergeants across the Shropshire Policing Area.

During my service I have always been keen to promote engagement between the Police and communities, and I have often used a creative approach to do so. This has included Cop Cards, Citizens Academy and the 'We're All Human' disability Hate Crime initiative. I have worked extensively with Special Constables and Police Service Volunteers.

At the start of 2016, I took over from Inspector Graham Preece in the role of Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector for Shrewsbury & surrounding areas. I am looking forward to carrying on the excellent work ongoing with partner agencies (such as the excellent work with Team Shrewsbury), and ensuring that Shrewsbury is a better place to work, rest and invest.
