About us

Local policing teams are groups of officers dedicated to serving the community. Teams are made up of officers based in the area, supported by additional officers from the wider area. 

Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

    1. Youth Anti-social Behaviour in and around Wingerworth/Tupton
    2. Speeding traffic/ Hazardous Driving NE05 locations
    3. Drug dealing Tupton.

    Action taken:

    1. Target and provide high visibility patrols in Wingerworth, Tupton and surrounding areas at known hotspots. Continue organising community events, Cuppa with a Copper and Street Meets.
    2. Continue speeding patrols in various locations. Utilise SNT speed gun at known locations. Issue warning letters to offending persons.
    3. Concentrate on known areas (times of the day) with high visibility patrols, gather intelligence regarding drug dealing. Continue engaging with the community and adding intelligence given to us and gathered by us. SNT shifts patterns changed to accommodate these patrols.
