Alongside the newly presented street level crime and outcomes data, we've enhanced and developed some of the website functions and improved the site design to make it easier for you to find, understand and make use of the information you're looking for.
The data is now presented in a way that enables you to tailor it to your needs, and we've made it easier for you to find related crime prevention information. It's now easier to get involved in policing and crime reduction in your community, whether this is through attending a local 'beat' meeting, joining neighbourhood watch, volunteering with the police or contacting your police and crime commissioner. We've designed the site so that now you'll find relevant crime prevention advice relating to the category of crime you're viewing on the map. So now, if you're interested in local bicycle theft figures, you'll easily find information and tips to reduce the risk of your bike being stolen.
Our statistics now also include case length which will allow you to compare the performance of the police and courts in your area with the national average. It's easier to see how the performance of your police force or the police in your area compares with other similar areas.
Other new and improved functions to the site include:
- The ability to create, bookmark and share your own personalised crime maps.
- A function enabling you to sign up to receive email notifications when the crime data for your area is updated.
- Details of individual officer / PCC twitter feeds, web chats and local e-messaging services.
We are always looking at ways to improve how we do things. Tell us what you think of the new site or what else you’d like to see via the feedback page.
