Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities in this neighbourhood.

Priority

Reports and checks have shown there are a number of vehicles without Tax, MOT and Insurance.

Driving without an MOT or insurance is a criminal offence. Vehicle tax is required for most mechanically propelled vehicles.

If you are caught driving a vehicle without MOT or insurance on a road or in a public area, the police will deal with you.

Action taken

Vehicles are being checked on a regular basis to ensure they are all road worthy and abiding by the law. The estate officer will be made aware of any vehicles that have no tax.

Priority

Residents are reporting inconsiderate parking by parents around the Norton Fitzwarren C of E Primary School area, especially around the junctions and corners of Dunkerton Rise leading to traffic congestion around school drop-off/collection times.

Action taken

Highways and the Parish Council are aware of the issues caused around Norton Fitzwarren Primary School in relation to parking. Highways will be continuing to do the neccessary to put any actions in place. Building work is currently being carried out, which has limited the access to the car park.

Priority

Reports from speed watch and the local residents have been made regarding vehicles speeding from the change over on the B3227 from 40mph to 30mph outside Beauford Park.

Priority

Reports of antisocial behavior have been made regarding youths gathering in the park during the evening and causing harassment, alarm and distress to local residents.

There have been reports children are swearing, kicking footballs at house walls and vehicles, ringing doorbells, shouting abuse, causing damage and generally causing a nuisance in the local area.

Action taken

We are still receiving reports from local residents that youths are continuing to cause anti-social behaviour in the vicinity of mill house road. This will remain a priorty .

Priority

Norton Fitzwarren have received complaints of persons committing Anti-Social Behaviour along the industrial estate road behind Beauford Park , by driving their vehicles erratically and racing up and down the road unnecessarily which is causing noise, nuisance and concerns to local residents.

There has also been reports of littering, shouting, swearing, horns beeping, clapping and the revving of engines. This is causing harassment, alarm and distress to nearby residents and the local neighbourhood making this a priority in our area.

Action taken

This continues to stay on our late tour hot spot and night time patrols are carried out on a regular basis with the beat team being fully aware of the issues in this area.
